Virtual Riders
Virtual Riders
Introduction

This section will give you links on how to sort out all sorts of things.  It's not just about problems being resolved, it's also about how you can move things forward for your organisation; how to do things.  Everything links to our newly established knowledge base which is growing all the time.  What do you want to do?

Go directly to the Virtual Riders Knowledgebase.

The other sections in this part of the site explain more about the headings in the knowledgebase.

The answers?

The web can often provide you with an answer to your questions. This presents a problem because getting the answer you need can take ages.  The new VR knowledgebase will respond to your questions and is based on real experiences in the Humber area....  and the answers will attempt to be simple and will be graded. Although subjective, these grades will give you an indication as to how easy (1) or hard (5) the answer is!

Not found the answer?

Ask us your question.  Simply fill in the form below or (much easier) call the freephone number and we'll get back to you.  If we don't know the answer straight away, we'll research it and get back to you.  You can email us as well.

What's inside the sub sections

Each of the sub sections here are designed to help you get answers.  They provide an explanation of the words which are used to categorise things to do with computers which then offer specific links.  This means that you should be able to get to the right sections quickly, so helping you get the right information.

For example, if your printer has died, start with the hardware section and then choose printers.  Or if you are having a problem with Word, choose the software section and the look for applications (or Microsoft or Office or Word...).

What are FAQs and how to use them
FAQ stands for Frequently Asked Questions.  Often, the problems that you want answering appear to be specific to you, but in fact are very common.  Other people may have had the same experience.  Additionally, the solution to the problem may appear to very specific, but in fact is quite general.  So how do you know where to find the answer.  FAQ's give you a different route to answers by relating to your real world question.  So, for example, my computer won't work could provide a myriad of answers.  FAQ's (preferably not quite like that one) attempt to provide the explanations by linking the answer to practical how to fix it situations.  It is very similar to how to, but the question might appear very different.  These are often put together in knowledgebases such as that provded by LASA (and previously the ICT hub) and Virtual Riders very own Humber focussed knowledgebase.
